Best Way to Keep Focus and Energy at Work for A Long Time

We think that if you do a lot of work, the work will be much better. But it’s actually the wrong idea. If you work continuously for a long time, besides damaging the body, the quality of work also deteriorates.

If you sit for a long time, your back gets caught. The joints of the hands and feet become numb.  Even if you work in a very good setup – don’t sit still for a long time. This will lead to lethargy in the body, get tired quickly, and shift the focus from work. Because of this, your work will not be good.

The best way is to take a short walk every 5 minutes for 25 minutes and do light exercises by bending the body. This method is called the “Pomodoro technique“.

The method was invented in the late 1980s by an Italian student named Francesco Cyrillo. The Italian word Pomodoro means tomato. The method is called the Pomodoro technique because Cyrillo used a tomato-shaped kitchen timer to capture energy and attention at work.

It is very important to keep the blood circulation moving to keep the body strong.  If you sit stretched, the blood circulation slows down. As a result, fatigue comes in the body, it seems that there is no energy. And if you work continuously, the focus also goes away from the work.

If we watch a movie or read a storybook, we remember the beginning and the end of it the most. I don’t remember the middle ground so much.  Because of this, our brain focuses most on the beginning and end of something.  The Pomodoro technique was originally created by applying this theory.  Dividing a long task into smaller sessions, starting over and over again does not lose focus.  And as a result of taking short rests at regular intervals, energy is not wasted even after working hard.

How to use Pomodoro:

This technique divides each work session into 4 into 25-minute sub-sessions. All in all, 4 x 25, 100-minute session in total.

In the first 3 sub-sessions, you have to take a break every 5 minutes for 5 minutes.

During this break, you must leave the chair and take a short walk. Sub session number 4, i.e. take a big break of 15-20 minutes after finishing the last 25-minute session. Then start another 100-minute session again.

If you work in this way, you will have energy as well as focus. Remember, in every 25-minute session, your focus should be on just one task. When the focus shifts, the brain quickly becomes tired.

In this case, decide in advance what to do in each session. Do not set the timer for any other task before that task is completed. If you use this method, you will be amazed at the speed and quality of your work.

If you use an Android or Apple smartphone, you can get the Pomodoro app by typing “Pomodoro timer” on Google Play or the Apple app store. And if you want to use it on a computer, then if you type “free Pomodoro software” and do a Google search, you will get several applications. In addition to these, you can also maintain the time by looking at the time on your watch or mobile.
